Today, after only one year in Congress, Congressman Morgan McGarvey (KY-03) announced he has been named a Senior Whip, a key position in Democratic Whip Katherine Clark’s (MA-05) whip team, to champion House Democrats’ agenda in the 118th Congress.

“I’m honored to be appointed by Whip Clark to serve my Democratic colleagues as a Senior Whip,”said Rep. McGarvey. “As the only Democrat serving in the Kentucky Delegation, it’s a privilege to work alongside House Democratic Leadership in fighting for Louisville and Jefferson County, and every hardworking American across our country. I’m proud to represent my hometown in Congress, and I’m looking forward to representing our community in this new position.”

“Since arriving in the halls of Congress, Rep. Morgan McGarvey has quickly proven to be an effective advocate for Kentucky’s 3rd District and an invaluable asset to his House colleagues,” said Democratic Whip Katherine Clark. “I’m thrilled that he will serve our House Democratic Caucus as a Senior Whip, helping lead our fight to lower costs for working families, create good paying jobs, and build a fairer future for all Americans.”
