A new feature at Forward Kentucky – our own bill tracker for bills that we want to focus on!

LAST UPDATE: Sunday, March 12 (changes in red)

Many people have commented how hard it is to keep up with this year’s General Assembly (KYGA17). The pace is even more frantic than usual, and the complete Republican control means that they control the agenda and can pretty much do what they want.

BUT … by calling, and writing, and calling, and tweeting, and CALLING, we have been able to slow down some bills, and even get some bills postponed or pulled or killed! So, we decided to put together this bill tracker on key bills, so you would know their status and who to contact. We will do our best to keep it updated each night. And, if you know of a bill that we need to add, send the info to Tips@ForwardKY.com. Include the bill number and why you think it is a key bill.

LRC Message Line – (800) 372-7181 – Add it to your phone!

How To Call

  • Give them your name and address. If you’ve called before, they’ll have it.
  • Tell them the bill number you are calling about.
  • Tell them who you want the message to go to (an individual rep, a committee, or all Senators or all House members). Always best to call your own reps, but also helps if they get calls from across the state.
  • Tell them your position on the bill.
  • Add a comment about why you are opposed, including how it will affect you.
