Rep. Robert Goforth (R-East Bernstadt), who has filed to run for governor, has filed a bill that eliminates most location restrictions for persons with a concealed carry license. This would allow those persons to carry concealed weapons into schools, bars, government buildings, and private businesses.
Goforth says that his bill is intended to protect the public, noting that current law allows concealed weapons in some locations as long as the weapons aren’t loaded. He says that his bill is actually safer since it requires the individuals to be licensed.
