A new bill, Senate Bill 9 (SB9), would prohibit abortions once a fetal heartbeat is detected, and make any abortion performed after that time a Class D felony.
If you think this bill is bad, you need to act quickly. The bill has already had two readings in committee, and could come to the floor of the Senate very soon.
The Kentucky ACLU has set up a web page where you can submit comments to your particular legislator. Go to this page and either fill in the form and submit it, or call the number on the page (the LRC comment line) and leave a comment, or both.
If passed, this bill will essentially outlaw all abortions in the state, and will no doubt wind up in court. The time to act is before it gets passed. Let your voice be heard today!
