It’s the last day of January, and we’ve been doing a push for membership throughout the month. We’ve gained a number of new members, which is great – but we still need more people to join in order to be on a solid financial footing for 2019.

We moved to a flexible paywall in November, where we let anyone read a certain number of stories a month without being a paying member. Once they have hit their limit, they can either join and get unlimited content, or wait till the next month to read more stories.

Since the flexible paywall went into place, we’ve had new people join regularly. But, since we don’t put up ads, the only source of funding for the work is our membership dues. And in order to do the job we want to do in 2019, we need some more members.

So, if you’ve been thinking of joining, now would be a good time. We’re revising our budget for 2019 based on our membership base, and we will have to cut back some activities if our numbers stay where they are. Help us be the progressive voice we all want – become a member today. Thanks!
