Guess what – Forward Kentucky has a BEHAG. Read on to learn what it is, and why YOU should care.

We recently changed our membership model to a monthly Patron model. There are a number of reasons for this, but the main one is to give us a stable, ongoing monthly income, so that we know how to budget and plan.

That’s all very well and good for Forward Kentucky, but what about YOU, our readers and friends? Guess what again – there is something in it for you, too!

We have three Patron levels, and each of the levels has its own Patron Perks. You can read all about them on the sign-up page, but here are some of the bigger ones:

  • Admittance to a closed Facebook group that is ONLY for Patrons
  • Invitation to a monthly “Ask Me Anything” with elected officials and newsmakers (patrons only!)
  • Early access to podcasts and content
  • Access to patron-only content, such as live streams sent only to the Facebook group and content posted on the web site but locked to all but patrons

There’s more, but you get the idea. Being a Forward Kentucky Patron gets you some good stuff … AND, you are helping to support and grow the progressive voice for Kentucky politics!

So what’s a BEHAG, anyway?

That’s easy – a BEHAG is a Big Exciting Hairy Audacious Goal. Such a goal helps you focus all your efforts, and challenges everyone to get on board. And, when you share it with the world, it makes you even more accountable to reach it.

What is the Forward Kentucky BEHAG, then? Simple:

To sign up 400 patrons by June 30, 2018

How big is that? Considering we’re starting from ZERO, that’s pretty audacious. And, it would make a big difference in our financial stability, as well.

How can I help?

Two ways:

  • Become a Patron. Just go to the sign-up page at, choose a level, and submit. You’ll get a big thank-you from us, and your name called out on our Patrons and Sponsors page!
  • Tell others. You are probably a member of many other groups. Spread the word by telling them “I helped Forward Kentucky achieve their BEHAG! You can too — let me tell you how!”

We will post our progress toward our BEHAG right on the web site every week, if not every few days. Check back to see how we’re doing. And go sign up right now!
