Wondering about continuing the calendar

We added a statewide event calendar to the site at the beginning of the year, hoping that people would find it useful AND that groups would submit their events. Our goal was to provide a central place where people could look for events in their area and get involved.

I’m wondering, though, if it’s worth keeping.

Based on the number of clicks it gets, it’s not used very much. When we were updating it ourselves (primarily by scouring Facebook for events) AND we were including the events in the Forward Five, it got some traffic. When we stopped doing those two things, the usage dropped dramatically. There was also a drop when the General Assembly ended.

So, just thinking. It costs a small amount each year to keep it on the site, and it would cost much more if we had to update it ourselves.

If you have any thoughts about it one way or the other, comment below or send me an email.
