This morning Morgan McGarvey was joined by his wife Chris and their children Clara, Wilson and Greta to officially file to run for the U.S. Congress in KY-03.
“We’re embarking on this campaign as a family because they are so much of why I’m in this race. I think about finally passing paid family leave, affordable childcare, access to quality health care, tackling the immediate threat of climate change, and what kind of Kentucky I want my kids to grow up in,” said Morgan. “I view what is going on in Washington as both a state legislator and as a working parent. I’m running because we don’t have time for political games; the families of our district need results now.”
A lifelong Kentuckian, Morgan and his wife Chris live in Louisville with their three children Clara, Wilson, and Greta. Chris is an amazing professional and mom who works full-time in training and leadership development. Morgan graduated from duPont Manual High School in JCPS, earned a journalism degree from the University of Missouri, and a law degree from the University of Kentucky. In addition to his role as Senate Minority Leader, Morgan currently works as an attorney representing small businesses and people facing discrimination, and in his free time dabbles in playing guitar and making TikTok videos.
