The whiny 77-year-old toddler

All his life, Trump has claimed that anything not going his way was “rigged.” Remind you of anything?

The best way to fight this constant MAGA bleating about everything being rigged is to point out that this has been Donald Trump’s default mode his whole life. What a freaking crybaby!

Before Donald Trump disgraced America by entering politics, he was disgracing America with a terrible TV show. Because he’s so insecure, Trump wasn’t happy that the show was saving him from near-bankruptcy. Instead, because of his delusions of grandeur, he thought he deserved an Emmy in 2004 and 2005 for that schlock; only due to the Emmy’s being “dishonest” did The Apprentice miss out. “There was even a time when he didn’t get an Emmy for his TV program three years in a row and he started tweeting that the Emmys were rigged against him,” Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton pointed out in 2016’s third presidential debate.

In 2016, Trump claimed that he would be losing the 2016 election because it was rigged. Even though he won, Trump still claimed it was rigged because he lost the popular vote. What a weasel!

But Trump had already complained earlier that year that his loss to Senator Ted “Cancún” Cruz in the Iowa Caucus was due to — what else? — it being rigged. “Ted Cruz didn’t win Iowa, he illegally stole it,” tweeted the man who would become the first Twitter Troll president. As usual, Trump threatened to sue.

But it’s not just politics that are rigged. No, sir! In September 2019, Politico ran this headline: “Trump claims Nobel Peace Prize is rigged against him.” He whined to Pakistan’s then Prime Minister Imran Khan that he “would get a Nobel Prize for a lot of things, if they give it out fairly, which they don’t.” Of course Trump deserved a Nobel Peace Prize more than the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (2017); Dr. Denis Mukwege, who pioneered treatments for women raped by armed rebels, or Nadia Murad, whose foundation helps women and children traumatized by genocide and human trafficking (the latter two were both 2018). What an inflated ego!

No surprise then that in 2020, Trump reran the same rigged accusations he’d been using for decades. Or that Trump claims it’s rigged that a court ruled against a man who bragged about grabbing women by the pussy for when he actually grabbed a woman by the pussy. So out of character! Or that he claims that the Trump Organization case is also rigged. And his felony convictions. And anything else that doesn’t go his way.

Maybe everything isn’t rigged; maybe it’s just one man who’s a whiny 77-year-old toddler.
