LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Vice President Kamala Harris is expected to announce her running mate within the next few days as the two embark on a campaign blitz across several swing states set to begin next week.
Wednesday night, UAW President Shawn Fain joined CNN’s Abby Phillip on NewsNight and spoke about who union workers want to see join Harris on the Democratic ticket.
“The top name was Andy Beshear,” Fain said.
The two-term governor of Kentucky has been among the top contenders to be Harris’ running mate since President Joe Biden announced he would be exiting the race.
Recent polling from ABC has found many Americans don't recognize Beshear, or any of the other potential VP contenders. However he is tied for second place in terms of overall favorability.
