Here are some selected tweets about the primary from the great reporters we have across Kentucky.
NEW: The most anticipated — and expected — gubernatorial contest. @MattBevin and @AndyBeshearKY’s feud could deliver one of the more personal and nasty races in #Kentucky's recent political history. https://t.co/6TXT2B208i #KYGov

Cross: Beshear got almost half the vote in Jefferson. Edelen got 40% and Adkins 10%. The western Kentucky vote was also important. The Beshear name is still a political asset there.

Beshear tears up talking about his wife. Says she would make an amazing First Lady. He thanks his kids.

Odd fact from #kygov results: Even though Bevin nearly doubled his vote total compared to his 2015 primary win, he actually received 13 less votes this year in Boone County. Nearby Gallatin and Campbell in NKY only gave him 19 & 21 more… something happening up there.

Three highest counties for Democratic turnout yesterday were 1) Franklin- 46.6%, 2) Elliot (Rocky's home)- 44.4% and 3) Woodford- 39%. In no counties was Dem turnout less than 10%.

The four highest counties for Republican turnout were 1) Franklin-34.2, 2) Crittendon-29.4 3) Anderson-28 and 4) Jackson-25.9%… which is Goforth's home county that he won 73% of the vote in. Lowest was 9.9% in Christian County.

fwiw, those heavily Red areas where Republicans turned out in much greater numbers than Democrats yesterday include many of the counties where Goforth put a whoopin' on Bevin https://t.co/D0otKxFvK9

Another fwiw map… the Democrat and Republican who won the counties (in overall votes) will not be the Democrat and Republican on the ballot this fall. https://t.co/In46sDaGbC

In Jefferson County, 21.9% of registered voters cast ballots in Tuesday's Kentucky primary election (132,414 of 603,426). That was the highest turnout for a non-presidential election year since 2010 (27.7%); in the 2015 gubernatorial primary, turnout was 12.7%. #KYPrimary
