OK, folks, this is it – the final push to get Democrats, including Kamala Harris, over the finish line. I’ve gathered a bunch of ways you can take action in these last 13 days, from writing post cards to calling voters to door-knocking. Pick at least ONE and let’s get this done!

The Everything Sites

These are sites with multiple opportunities of all kinds. Definitely something for everyone! Check them out by clicking the links below.

  • Kentucky Democratic Party (link)
  • Louisville Democratic Party (link)
  • Fayette County Democratic Party (link)
  • Warren County Democratic Party (link)
  • Kentuckians for the Commonwealth (link)

Writing

Vote Forward letter writing campaign (link) – Writing letters to voters is one of the most effective ways to help increase election turnout. And you can do it right from home! There are 41 active campaigns, so you’ll definitely be able to find one or more that appeal to you. This group made a HUGE difference in 2020, with over 280,000 volunteers sending letters.

Third Act postcard program (link) – Their goal is to send 200,000 post cards to voters in key states encouraging them to be sure to vote.

Volunteer Blue postcard and letter program (link) – LOTS of options here. Check out the “Anytime Actions” list.

Virtual Phone Banking and Texting

These are done via your computer, either using the computer itself to talk with a voter or using the name and phone number on the screen to call or text with your own phone. The system picks the voters to call based on various factors; all you have to do is follow the script.

KFTC phone bank (link) – Friday at 1 PM; click the link to join the call

KFTC “No on 2” phone bank (link) – Wednesday, 10/30, 6:30 to 8:30 PM – Will start with a short training, then on to the virtual phone bank.

Door Knocking

Kentucky to North Carolina Carpool (link) – Multiple days are available. Once you sign up, you’ll be connected with other drivers that are looking to canvass in North Carolina. The destination for carpools in North Carolina from Kentucky is Winston-Salem.

Local Door-Knocking (Adopt-a-Precinct) (link) – You sign up to knock doors within your own precinct. I have done this, and it is both fun and effective. (Being able to say “I just live a couple of streets over” is a great ice-breaker.)
