Andy Barr’s ridiculous debate tweet – and a surprise

The surprise explains the tweet ... sorta.

Donald Trump lost the debate.

Everyone knows this. Even Republicans (Karl Rove!) are admitting it. Even Fox News (Fox News!) came out and said Trump lost and Kamala Harris won.

Everyone ... except Kentucky’s own Andrew Barr.

When I first saw this, I literally laughed out loud. Then I hit the reply button, and laughed in the comments as well, posting “HAHAHAHA!!”

“President Trump is still coming out on top” has to be one of the most divorced-from-reality comments I have ever, ever seen.

Then the surprise

I started to title the post “Andy Barr’s blatant suck-up tweet.” Here’s why I didn’t.

When I went back to Barr’s campaign account on Twitter to get the screen shot of the tweet, I decided to scroll down and see what else he had posted – and I came across this:

I didn’t know this. Barr as Kentucky state chair for Trump’s re-election campaign? Explains a lot, for sure.

I mean, when you’ve got a pair of 2s and the other player is showing three aces, your only option is to bluff as well as you can.

So good luck to you, Andy. Your guy will probably win Kentucky – but you will have further soiled your reputation by hitching your wagon to his fading star.
