Good morning! I had a reader email me yesterday, asking if I was okay since there was no Daily Take. As I told that reader, I was fine – I just slept later than usual, and that caused my morning schedule to collide with itself.

I was surprised and touched to get an email like that. So often in politics, and in life, everything is transactional:  the only thing that matters about the other person is what they can do for me. Caring about and for the other person is secondary. So, having someone reach out in concern is special.
