For our second Voice of Kentucky poll, we’re going to take a look at House Bill 5, otherwise known as the “Safer Kentucky Act.” This is a massive bill, which tens of changes all across our criminal justice system. The most notable feature of it, though, is that it dramatically increases punishments for a number of crimes, and expands the definition of “violent crime” in the state.

The sponsor of the bill claim that it will lower our crime rate and make us all safer. Others are not so sure. What do you think?

And remember: the VOK polls are for ForwardKY members only. If you want to vote in it, but you’re not a member, then now would be a good time to sign up for a free Forward Kentucky membership! Now on to the poll!
