Kelly Knight Craft, newly-appointed U.S. ambassador to Canada and native Kentuckian, said in an interview that she believes “both sides” of the climate change issue.

You know there are good sciences on both issues and I believe that we are committed to our environment. Obviously, there are a lot of people on this earth and that is going to be a result of some of these damages to the planet but I know that the president and all of the cabinet has the best interest of what is good for the United States and what is good for our environment.

As noted in a story announcing her appointment, Knight Craft is married to American billionaire coal magnate Joe Craft. He’s the president and CEO of Alliance Resource Partners L.P., the second-largest coal producer in the eastern United States, which operates 10 coal mine complexes in five states, according to the company’s website. The couple have donated millions to Republican candidates, including to Donald Trump.
