Veto Series 4: HB 7, the attack on the safety net

Even though this bill was improved by incorporating feedback from some advocates, it is still a bad bill that harms thousands of Kentuckians, all in the name of “reducing fraud.” As more than one person has said, why harm everyone in the system for the acts of a few?

I would encourage you to read the entire veto message, as it really lays out well the reasons for the veto, and the damage the bill would cause. For now, here’s a bullet list of points as to why the bill deserved to be vetoed:
